HOW SCORE WORKS
SCORE
is a national non-profit organization that has a long
tradition of offering timely and trusted counsel to small
business through its diverse group of seasoned business
professionals. More than 13,000 women and men volunteer
over 1.4 million hours, at no cost to the client, providing
the advice needed by the budding entrepreneur or the established
small business owner.
The
Greater Cincinnati chapter was one of the original chapters
when the national SCORE program was initiated in 1964.
SCORE is a resource partner of the SBA.
The local SCORE office is shared with the Cincinnati branch
of SBA.
SCORE
has over 350 Chapters nationwide and the local Chapter
34 serves 19 counties in the Greater Cincinnati area.
The Cincinnati team consists of over 80 professionals
who have committed to providing the best small business
advice available, at no cost, to anyone who asks. Each
counselor is trained to deliver the knowledge and experience
they have gained in a meaningful and helpful manner.
Locally over 2000 clients are served annually, in addition,
over 800 people attend one of the many seminars offered
to help educate small business people.
SCORE
clients come from a variety of backgrounds and readiness
for business startup. Greater Cincinnati SCORE has
no prerequisites or qualifications for clients other than
a passion to either learn more about how they might run
their business better, or about small business startup.
Counseling
is typically offered on a one to one basis by a SCORE
Relation Manager who provides confidential and impartial
guidance to the client. To request assistance, go to our
www.scoreworks.org
site and click on Free
Business Counseling and complete the request.
It's that simple.
In addition to individual
counseling, clients are also offered “group mentoring”
where several mentors form a team of experts to meet with
them. This draws upon the variety of disciplines and experience
of the mentors to help clients reach their business goals.
If this is of interest, ask your current SCORE counselor
to refer you.
SCORE
also offer a variety of Seminars/Workshops geared to increasing
the success of a new or existing small business. Please

Specific,
