[Volunteer]
Just
because you have retired from the business world
as an owner or manager does not mean that you cannot
remain active in the business community. You may
want to meet new associates and be a part of a prestigious,
local organization while still maintaining control
of your 'free time'. Joining SCORE will meet those
needs.
SCORE need volunteers to spend some of their 'free
time' counseling individuals who are thinking about
going into business or who have already started
one and are encountering problems. We are looking
for people with skills gained through 'real world'
experiences to join the over 50 current volunteer
SCORE members. For

SCORE'S COUNSELING MEANS TO CLIENTS AND COUNSELORS
New
Member Training
SCORE
provides new members with ten training modules,
each lasting 1 hour. This training, given by senior
members, will prepare you for counseling clients.
In addition, SCORE Cincinnati has written over fifty
briefs on a variety of business subjects including:
These
briefs are used to support members for the most
complete counseling of SCORE clients.
New
Member Co-Counsel
New
SCORE members may have other members join them for
their client's counseling session to provide additional
experience or help a client on a specific issue.
Potential new counselors should not worry about
not having sufficient experience on all business
issues. Co-counseling sessions also provides an
excellent opportunity for you to increase your knowledge
of the business world.
SCORE
Committees
Members
are encouraged to join one or more SCORE committees;
covering marketing, programs, membership, publications,
development and workshops. These committees meet
no more frequently than once per month.
Monthly
Membership meetings
Each month, membership meetings provide opportunities
to meet new 'friends', brag about your golf, get
ideas about where to travel, etc., and hear a speaker
about topics that will help you in consulting with
your clients.
SCORE
Business Workshops
SCORE
conducts one of the three workshops each month.
The workshops topics are "Starting and Nurturing
Your Business", "Financial Management
& Obtaining Funding", and "Marketing/Sales
Strategies for Small Businesses and How to Effectively
Use the WEB". If you enjoy teaching, you will
certainly enjoy the direct contact with our clients.
The students are very appreciative of learning from
people 'who have been there'.
